Hello,
I've been enforced to reinstall 3D Canvas pro. Now, when i want to access to my existing scenes, each one is offset to the right of my screen. Even if i replace the scene at the middle, it appears again to the right of the screen the next time.
Does anyone know the reason ?

Is it a camera thing....if you saved the files using the animation camera, when you re-installed I think by default 3DC uses the layout camera.
When you say you repalce the scene in the middle
does the xyz position of the scene actually change when it's re-loaded?

Hello Bazza,
When i replace the scene at the middle of the screen and i want to save it with using "file" button on the left top, the option "save" is in grey. It's like i didn't make the change !!!

OK...the offset thing....
If the scenes world xyz position is offset to the right and you are using the layout camera (see attached pic), every time you load the scene it would appeare offset to the right.
The layout camera is always pointing to world position 5,0,5 when you load a scene (I think)

If you change to the animation camera and point this at the scene,then save and reload it, the scene will reload using the animation camera at the position you saved the scene, so it will appeare centered (If thats how you saved it)

Is the center xyz position of your scene at the center of the 3D world (or thereabouts)...if not and you are using the layout camera it will always appeare offset when loaded.

Hope all this makes sense.LOL

The save thing....you mean you can't save a file?.....if thats the case maybe another re-install is needed...maybe Richard can help with that problem.

Thank you for your reply.
I switched off the animation toolbar and centered the scene but when i want to save it, the option "save" is in grey. Also, even if i use the option "save as" the scene appeare to the right the next time i reload it. I must say that the function "save" work well in the other cases...

This is very odd...can't think what else to suggest....maybe send the file to Richard and ask him to try it.
Once you find out what is causing the problem you should be able to correct it.

Yes this would explaine why the Save... is blanked out but Save as... works.
Not to sure but I think what you do is to right click on one of the files....then from the drop down menu choose...Open with.....then navigate to 3d Canvas....click ok...after that all 3dc files should open with 3dc if you click on them and the icons should be restored.

Something like that.

Well, i don't know why my last message disapeare.
Anyway, i did what you suggest and i've retrieved the 3dc icon for each document but the problem is still present...
All my difficulties are in the functionnality of the axis at the left bottom. When i use it to move the scene no matter how (top, bottom, left or right), "Save" is blanked.

Strange....all I can suggest is, if you would like me to try the scene on my system I can send you a PM with my mail address...if I get the same problem then it's not your system that is at fault.
