I cannot import 3-ds & dxf files.  I can import truespace .cob files.  I can mnport .dxf file to truespace, export that file as a .cob file and import the .cob file to Canvas.


Please advise.

Sometimes3dc wants 3ds files to be loaded into wordpad and then saves from there - no idea why.

If this is the case you should be getting a request to do this ?

Can you give a bit more idea what is happening when you try to load the 3ds model ? Just not loading / error messages/ crashing/ loading wrong ?

The Wordpad trick really only works on files that are text files (such as dxf) not binary files (such as 3ds). But 3DC does give the message for binary formats sometimes, though it shouldn't.
