I would really like to see vast improvements on the particle system, mainly in animations.
For instance, it would be very useful for the particles to at least be represented by points without having to render. Better support for TGA and PNGs alpha channels, so that there is no black box in the renders when there are many of them. Also, to have the particles seem to be independant entities, so that textures can be used on a polygon and always face the camera independantly instead of as a larger object. As well, more control over where the particles may go, so that they can be confined to a particular space, perhaps inside an invisible object? More options for lights would be good, such as animating the brightness, he ability to clone them, and, for area lights, the abilty to scale them. More POV-Ray compatibility, such as infinite planes and more material options. Animated textures would be extremely useful, as well as animated backgrounds. I don't know if this is already possible, as I don't see why it wouldn't be, but I don't know how to do it: Rotating on an axis. The ability for objects to point towards other objects on an axis. This way you could make something with two parts, one that turns up and down "chasing" an object, and another that turns left and right. More material options, such as better specularity settings, glow, reflection(outside of POV settings) displacement, and such. I'd like to see Cinema 4d-esque options. Being able to use maps for all of the material settings would also be extremely useful. This message has been edited. Last edited by: DeathRay2K, |
