Hi again, sorry if this should be posted in new users, but here goes anyway. I'm modelling some bridges and tunnel portals - I can't figure out how to create the brick linings (arrowed) that run around the spandrel (front face) of the tunnel or bridge arch.

I've looked at the textures that were used on the MSTS routes and I can see that they've put the linings in the texture. I can't do this in Paint Shop Pro because it doesn't allow me to deform a straight section of brickwork into the curve to match the shape of the lining(AFAIK).

Sorry if that doesn't make much sense. Any help appreciated.

One way would be to UV map the front of the tunnel mouth and then use your artistic skills to paint in the spandrel bricks. Smile You may still have a problem though, lining things up with the brick courses on the inside of the tunnel.

Sorry only just seen this but I would suggest you use a photograph of the tunnel mouth that you are trying to model and create a texture file from it in PSP and use it direct on the model. have used this technique myself with great results.

Steve,

Yes, thats probably how I'm going to deal with it, although trying to get a good straight on photo of a tunnel entrance in good light is tricky! I've also had a similar problem with a bridge arch, but as the arch is not so acute as this tunnel portal, I've taken a segment of brickwork and rotated and pasted it bit by bit on to an image and then painted that onto the shape.
