This might have been covered before, if it has please forgive me. Is there a way to delete an object after compacting, without loosing the entire texture from the whole model?

Yes,

Just click on the object, then click on the Delete button on the main toolbar.

If you have "merged" objects and compacted then you can't just delete a part. You'll have to select the faces and delete them. You will loose texture information.

I thought that might be the case, I was just hoping there might have been a trick I missed.
Richard is it possible to make a feature or operation that would enable a group of faces to become a child, so it could be deleted without losing the entire texture of the parent.
Thanks for your
above response

Possible yes. But not soon.

But, there is a way that you can do this. Select all of the faces that you "want", copy them to the clipboard and paste them. That's the easiest way to separate objects that have been inadvertently merged.
