I though it would be a good idea to post this here too...

Some MSTS related video tutorials from Nick Fletcher in Australia.

I took a look at part 3 and 4.
It's good for someone starting learning 3DC (quote from the author web site: "I assume you've never seen the program before, or worked with 3D modeling.") but to make the wheels / bogies, it much better to start the work with TS Engineer V3 (excellent result and a lot of time saved).

Just a quick note. You may need to use TGA Tool 2 or the MakeAce app to manually create your .ace files using .tga files for the textures.
I needed to do this, as the exporter didn't create the .ace files for me. I might not have been using it correctly. :-) It's just a matter of producing the .ace and putting them into the main directory of your locomotive in the 'trains' directory.

I forgot to mention this in the video...

I agree that most of us really enjoy using Paul's add on for time saving... but it is really important to understand how it would be done without the ENGINEER tool.

Dummy me... I got real dependent on Dean's tools and they seldom get updated anymore... making me grumble and moan about doing it the hard way... If I wasn't so dependent on them... I'd be done with more projects by now.
