Having constructed two static buildings that have been successfully imported to MSTS, there is what I consider, a problem. The project is successfully imported and positioned, however, when highlighted, the structure isn’t highlighted in RED when the mouse is positioned over it. (all other items are so highlighted). Other that the above, all is well. What is wrong, I’m sure I’m missing something very basic. As far as I can determine, the instructions have been followed as in Ian Morgan’s instructive tutorials (which I have successfully completed).
It may have something to do with the shape file that 3DC has created as it weighs in at a massive 55, 000 kbs. (after all it’s only an end loading dock having just 88 polys).
Could someone please show me the error of my ways & let me know what I am missing.

Did you use the file menu items 'compact' and 'compress' before exporting? I think it should help. The thing with the red wireframe sometimes happens. Usullaly a cold reboot of the pc followed by an immediate export of the modell works for me. And first of all try to export with the built-in function, not with the plugin.

I use the MSTS plugin for export w/ the lossless compression option (exported as scenery).

I noticed sometimes the selection problem in MSTS route editor.
However I was eventually able to make the selection by changing viewing angle and distance.
