All,

On final - with my first model and a beta tester returned a problem... When running my engine at night - he gets weird flashes on one of the "ACE" files for the model... I am able to recreate the problem on my machine - so it's not a local problem on his machine... In the attached image you will notice both the cab and the headlight has this strange light effect from certain angles... One second it is there - then it is gone... The "ACE" in question has translucent parts on it - the one difference I can think of from all the rest... Translucency - set to 2 - I believe...

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a bit clueless on this one...

Smile

Regards,
Scott

Hello Scott,

I've seen this before with many of my models and believe that the problem does not lie at all with the texture files or engine shape file. There is a bug in MSTS and its to do with the lighting parameters within the engine file. Try making the start of your 'main cone of light's' Z axis measurment for your headlight to be within the loco's bounding box.

This will fix it. Smile

Vulcan,

Talk about instant gratification - WOW... Worked like a champ - just like you said... I was really afraid I was going to have to redo all the textures on the model and LOD's...

You saved me !

Thanks,
Scott
