I had this problem with an earlier version of 3dCanvas and now it returned. I cannot use TSwizard. I can choose the menu item but nothing happens. I uninstalled 3DC completely, removed the folders, run a registry cleaner at least 6 times, restarted the computer, nothing helped so far. Now I've no more ideas what to try.
I even don't know the cause for the disappearance of the wizard. I neglected 3DC for about a week because I finished my route. Now as I wanted to build some simple houses I can't use TSW!

Registry cleaner won't help. I would try uninstalling, deleting the 3D Canvas folder (backing it up first) and then reinstalling. If that doesn't work then you may have mismatched installation files (3DCanvas.msi/LPProUpgrade.msi). Another possibility is installing the wrong version of the Wizard. For a while there was a version available for download that was specific to a version of 3D Canvas.

Did everything like suggested. Uninstalled, removed folder, restarted computer, installed now Version 5.5a used the Help menu to get LPProUpgrade.msi installed upgrade. No TrainsimWizard!!! TSW is part of the upgrade? I don't have to install it separately?

No you don't have to install it separately. Have you?

I rebuilt the wizard for 5.5a rev 2 and posted it. You could give it a try:

www.amabilisplus.com/downloads/TrainSimWizard.zip

Just replace the existing version in the 3D Canvas plugins folder with this one.

I have no idea if this will help, or why it would help, but at 116k it may be worth a try.

BTW what version of Windows are you running?

My God you're fast in responding!
Alas it didn't help. Still no TSW. I'm running W98SE.

I'm actually supposed to be in bed.  Frown Its 1:00 am my time but I had some things to deal with before heading off.

Very odd problem. I have had one other person indicate a similar problem. Are all of your operations there? Do the other plug-ins work?

I'm going to have to sleep on this. This really doesn't make sense to me. It should work then.

So does it start at all?

This is like a chat, funny I never liked chatting.

It doesn't start at all, if I call the TSW with the menu the outline of the selected objekt flickers and that was it.
Good night Richard, btw I'm sitting in the morning sun, just jumped out of bed. Wonderous internet!

Can you search the 3D Canvas folder for a file called "3DCView.ocx". You may have to change your folder options (with the Control Panel) since Windows tends to hide dll/ocx files.

When you find it can you post the date, time, size.

One thing needs to be mentioned is that when I install the
3D canvas, the MS installer complained that it could not
update the file C:\winnt\system32\msscript.ocx, which is
protected by windows.
Hope this is the problem.

Hanes44,

What version of Windows are you running?

jtang,

That error isn't related, but was there anything else unusual about your install? For example how many operations, plug-ins and scripts are available. There should be:

45 operations
7 plug-ins
4 scripts

W98 has this msscript.ocx, too, but I never got this error message. Obviously it has been updated always without trouble.

There are 7 plugins, 45 operations and 4 scripts.
I am using my laptop now (DELL INSPIRON 7500), so
I called home and asked my wife to run the 3DC
on my home machine (an HP with the same version 5.5
and Windows 2000), the TSW worked. This tells me one
thing, maybe the problem of the ATI video card
(I can't run MSTS on my laptop due to this problem).

I've uploaded a new plug-in called "NameIt":

www.amabilisplus.com/downloads/NameIt.zip

Can you check to see if it works on your computer? To install, just copy the dll into the 3D Canvas plugins folder.

NameIt can be called and works. I can rename groups with it.

This is beyond weird. NameIt and TSW are pratically the same program. Normally I would expect both to either work or be broken. Not one work and the other not work.

Refresh my memory... what happens when you run the wizard? Is it that nothing happens at all?

I'll keep thinking.
