Hi Ken,

From reading your posts it would seem we have both been following the same path but on different sides of the Atlantic.

I've been building Model RAILWAYS for over 40 years now.
Looking back I seem to have built and exhibited just about every type of railway you can think of. When I moved into my present house a few years ago I couldn't find the enthusiasm to start again, but one day I picked up a copy of Model Railroader. I was instantly hooked, here was a chance to let my imagination run wild and thats exactly what it did!!

I can't seem to purchase many of the items I would like in the UK, and envy you many of the special offers I read about in Model Railroader, so I have to make do with what I can find. All my buildings are scratch built from card stock following designs in Model Railroader plus a few of my own thrown in for good measure!
I like to paint my own figures but all I can get are European figures and US style telegraph poles are just about impossible to find.

Anyway here's a pic of the Port Daniel & Alicetown railroad. Don't laugh, I've just taken ideas from other modellers and tried to make it look like a US railroad.

Thanks KB.

One day I'll get round to re-building it with 3DC!

Bazza, you owe appologies to noone. I know from where you come. The oldest Model Railroader mag in my collection is dated Aug 1952. My heart will probably always be with HO gage railroading mainly because I have done it seemingly forever. However in reality, one must face the facts. I model the Boston & Maine railroad. In HO I can do a little scene here and there. In Digital Modelling, I have modelled so far 150 miles of railroad. I am talking DEM modelling. A good friend, Dwight Mitchel does excellent painting and he has obliged me with a lot of B&M motive power which is also available on triansim.com. I could go on forever, but I don't want to be too boring.

I want to thank several people on this site who have taken the time to answer a lot of dumb questions from me on 3DCanvas. Sometimes it takes a few tries to push new knowlege into this 69 year old brain. Thanks guys.

Ken Powers.

Thanks.
It's 42ft x 12ft. I don't know if it will ever get finished. I get a bit dis-heartened sometimes not being able to obtain certain items and I don't fancy trying to scratch build hundreds of telegraph poles etc. Smile
