Took a screenshot fom the Morpheus launch bay and loaded it into Photoshop. Took another screenshot of one of Polybuilders figures and loaded this onto a new layer. Then set to work with all the PhotoShop tools to see what I could come up with.
Added the bright light scource as another layer, then quite a lot of noise and ran the
Radial Blur filter on the noise layer to try to get some kind of light beams. Did quite a bit of work adjusting the colours on the figures so they blended into the scene.

Thanks...Photoshop is all about learning how to use the layers palette..this seems to be the key.

If you look at the attached pic, I've included a pic of the layers palette on the right.
This is how you do the light and beams....

Your main image would go where the background
layer is...I just used a flat colour here.
Create a new layer for the light...use a VERY LARGE soft brush, set the colour to white and paint in the light.
Create another new layer for the beams, make sure it goes between the Light and Background layer...Fill this layer with a mid grey...add 10% Monochrome noise and take the contrast up to 100% using Image/Adjustment/Brightness and Contrast.
Set the layer mode to overlay.
Next on the Filter menu Choose Blur/Radial Blur, set the amount to around 70, the Blur Method to zoom and move the Blur center to roughly where the light is positioned on the light layer...click Ok...you will probably need to adjust the opacity for this layer as well.
I droped a figure into this just to get the effect and took the brightness/contrast right down.

You can mess around changing the order of the layers to get different effects and at some point need to use the Eraser tool on the Radial Blur layer just to remove some of the light beams.

Just gives you something else to do with all the screenshots of your models and you learn a lot about PhotoShop at the same time.
