Sorry that should have been "3D Canvas File Upgrader Add-In". Available from the downloads page.

I hate to be a winging ninny, but she won't fire up on my Vista box! I'm using a Dell XPS 1210 lappy with a CoreDuo 2.0Ghz processor.
I all I get is an "Unexpected error" message. It's dissapointing, as 3D Canvas is the only 3D editing software I wish to use! :-) |

Installs OK on my Dell 6400 laptop with Vista. Only thing is I had to switch UAC back on as it complained first time around about an out of date DirectX version when trying to configure for it. I also unblocked the security setting in properties of the file. Not sure if this made any difference. Vista is a pain !

Richard, is a 3DC version compatible with UAC disabled planned soon? |

I found the cause of the error, but I see no way to resolve it at this point. I believe it is a problem with a Microsoft ocx (ActiveX Control). Specifically, when I have a Common Dialog control on a form the error occurs. This happens whether the control is actually used or not.
The funny thing is that I can run 3D Canvas on my development machine with User Account Control off. I've been trying to figure out why it works on my development system, but not my other systems. No luck yet. |

It looks like "something" is unlocked on a development machine. Maybe there is no solution as Microsoft is providing some minimal support of VB6? |

Apparently (or so I've read anyhow) UAC only kicks in if a program is installed into "program files" directory. Don't know if this is any help. Could be total hogwash though.

VERY interesting. That could explain things. I'll have to check.
