What's Fixed

o) Support for Windows Vista

I have tested this on Windows Vista and Windows XP, and have had no problems. But, there have been a considerable amount of changes to the installation. It's possible there is still something missing.

Note that User Account Control must be ON (the default) at this point with Windows Vista. I'm still looking into why it is a problem.

Version 7.0.1.2 no longer requires a download of additional features. The "Download the Pro Upgrade" function on the Help menu is gone. It has been replaced by a "Download Updated Help". So, if you don't need the help there is only one download required. This makes it so there is no chance of mismatched Pro Upgrades. It also means that the download is now 10MBs. I couldn't do this before because the cost of providing downloads was too high. But it's went down recently.

Is there going to be a new 6.6 version (with optimize.dll working) ?
Is Vista only supported on 7.x ?
From the "What's Fixed" list, I understand that the following are not fixed yet (Your priority is certainly a working version for Vista) :
overzealous removal of duplicate faces

You're welcome. It was a bit tricky to figure out how to get it working. For a while I thought there would be no way to do it without requiring a complicated set of installation instructions.

I'm not sure if I will be retrofitting anything more to version 6.6. There is alot of work involved supporting two releases, and I'm not sure it is practical. It limits my ability to move forward.

I am certain that I won't be retrofitting the changes to the 3D Canvas installation. But, I will be providing instructions to manually install 3D Canvas 6.6 on Vista.

OK. So I'm going to switch to 7.x soon (and about overzealous removal of duplicate faces?).

I don't consider that to be a bug. It is a limitation of the feature. But, having said that I will likely try to improve it at some point. There are other priorities though.

If UAC is off, you still get the can't configure directx error.
So, does UAC hide the directx problem somehow?
