Hi All,

The final and official 3D Canvas 5.7a is now available.

What's New in 3D Canvas 5.7a
----------------------------

1) New Crease All Plug-In (3D Canvas Pro/LP only)

Creases all objects in a scene.

2) Extrude Operation Enhanced

The Extrude operation is now more accurate on heavily deformed faces.

3) Flat-Wireframe was re-added (in addition to "Solid Outline"Wink

4) The contrain X, Y, Z icons are now the same color as the axes on the edit control (so you can keep them straight).

Fixes for 5.7a
-------------

1) A work-around was found for the problems with the latest XP ATI drivers. (this was something of a mini-miracle actually)

2) Fix for an obscure skeletal bug where a bone that has a range of effect set, but does not include any points in the range, would deform seemingly random points.

3) "Select Hierarchy" was missing from the right-click menu when in animation mode. I added it.

4) There was an error "91" in some circumstances when using the timeline.

5) "visible bones" "visible lights" "visible camera" configurations were not saved when closing the program. They now are.

6) Ability to add an older 3DO file directly to an object library.

and some other bug fixes that I forget at this moment.

I did a little bit of pruning of this thread to keep things on topic.

So far, one confirmation from D_Akuma that all is OK with his Windows ME system that has either an ATI or GeForce video card. (subject to his installing the LP/Pro Upgrade for 5.7a).

Yep,
I've been working round the clock on my models since I downloaded the other night, and all seems fine.

Win 2000 sp 2, DirectX 8.1b, Matrox Millennium G400 Max agp 32MB, RAM 128 MB.

Uninstalled previous beta. Installation went fine. It did not, though, do the usual tests before running. I counted 45 operation buttons, everything seems OK to me.

Download & install went without a hitch. On power up all went smooth with the compatibility test. Used 3DC for about 3 HRS. No problems. Using a P3-500MHZ, XP Home Edition, Matrox G400.
Have not tried the Extrude tool, I am still at tutorial printing on the subject.

                            Have a nice day.
