Sorry, I forget something. If you have Vista, you will need to register it.

1) Right-click on "Command Prompt" on the Start menu's "Accessories" and chooose "Run as Administrator".
2) Type: Regsvr32 "c:\program files\3D Canvas 7\Operations\Material.dll" (I think that's the right path)

Until now all my problems were small Wink but this time i have a big problem: i have done many bridges with the 6.6.5.14 version and now i'm converting them to the 7.1.1.3.
I have done a texture update to a dozen of them during the last summer and now, into the 7.1.1.3, they are completely blank.

I'm sure is a problem of the last pair of revision because i have done the convertion of the bridge below with the 7.0 without problem. With the 7.1 i hadn't problem...

As it was into RS with the first conversion from 6.6.5.14 to 7.0...

Now into 3dcanvas 7.1.1.3

Do you have Beta 3 installed including the (registered) Material plug-in? Because, the main thing I fixed with Beta 3 was this particlar problem.

If you do, and you are still having this problem, can you send me the file?

After registering the .dll, I loose again some apply materials on shapes. Always destructive change.
Perhaps I apply those materials with the previous beta version.
Will verify if I loose again once reapplied with new version.
Verified and it seems that only material applied while in beta2 have this problem.

Yes, I had a look, and depending on how the material was applied in Betas 1/2, it may not reapply in Beta 3. In this case it really is complicated as to which will, and will not, reapply Wink

Bremen,

This looks to be some sort of rendering problem, and has something to do with a null bumpmap. Was there a bumpmap? I'll have to investigate further.

PS... I just loaded this in 6.6.5.16 and had the same problem you have in 7.1.1.3 Beta 3.

Obviously it's a bug, but maybe the bumpmap is missing?

No, i have never used a bumpmap because into MSTS it wasn't needed.

Could be related to the video card's drivers? I have done the repaint of the bridge on an Nvidia 7600go and now i'm on an ATI radeon 3870...

UPDATE: i have loaded the 6.6.5.16 version onto my old notebook that has the same 7600go video card and it hasn't the problem... Confused

I just remembered a thing: to update the texture sometimes i have done a swap texture files, to test directly the new texture before the final paint
After the swap, the TS wizard was saing that i had used a translucency map that i never used because all the texture are simple BMP...
Could be this the problem?

This particular bug could look right on one graphics card and not on another. I'm doing something "unexpected" in 3D Canvas and as a result you can't know what the graphics card will do with it.

It turns out that when this file was upgraded to 6.6.5 there was an error in the upgrader and it filled in bumpmap with a garbage texture name. That's the problem. I've fixed it now.

If you have an older version of this file (pre 6.6.5), you may be able to open it in 7.1 and have it work right.

I tried to send you a fixed version of the file, but my email isn't working, and won't until Monday.

I'll be putting out a new 7.1.1.3 beta soon. I can't just give you a new exe or operation this time. I need to produce a full install for this. I just have one more fix to add regarding picking of faces before I do that. But, that's dependent on hearing something from Paul on the bug he reported.

Hello,

Is it possible to have 3DC 7.1.1.1 and 7.1.1.3 both installed?
It would ease a lot testing while going on working with the current stable versions.

No problem, i still have a copy of all the bridges with the old texture scheme Smile
I'm lucky because all the other bridge and objects done with the 6.6.5, until now, are working as always Cool

Sorry DOM107, but there isn't any way to have both installed.

I don't think there are any identified problems with 7.1.1.3 now. I believe I have fixed everything that has been pointed out as a problem.
