Richard,
I'm getting a crash and #340 error message every time I try and double click on a primitive to try and change it's properties. Kevin |

Kevin,
I'll have a look later today. Paul, Sorry, I totally forgot. You need to refer to capplier.dll (3D Canvas Applier) not 3dcanvas.exe now. |

Same problem here. I have it when i do a reverse of a merge. If i select all the points of a face and i drag them to a new position, the yellow line around the object remain fixed to the old position. The animation camera is now impossible to be used with orthographic views? |

Yes, all of these errors make sense based on the changes I made.
So now I'm off to fix them... Bremen, The animation camera could never be used with th orthographic views. If you could, then it was a bug and it's now fixed. |

The list:
o) Error #35601 when deleting a merged layer *** Fixed - this also happened with undo o) Error #35601 when deleting an object that had a boolean operation *** Fixed o) Error #340 when double-clicking a primitive *** Fixed o) Error #1931 on installation ***Frans, can you tell me what specifically the error said? It should say something about what it couldn't replace o) Error #35601 when grouping objects *** I couldn't reproduce this. Grouping worked fine. It was unmerging that I had problems with. o) Moving all the points of a face does not update bounding box. *** Could you give me more details? I couldn't tell what you meant from the picture. I have done a ties with a cube primitive, added and merged some other small objects to it and i have saved/exported it for RS. After that i have selected with the selection tool one side of the base and i have dragged it to reduce the size of the ties to suite a narrow gauge track. The bounding box remain the same as before the drag. The cube is 1.6meter long but the BB says 2.1m, that was the old size before the selection It isn't a big problem because i can use the shape into RS without problems... it's only strange Ok. |

Thanks Richard for the fix in beta2.
Is it normal to have the message: X layers were disabled .... after removing or unchecked a Material Update layer? Robert |

Bremen,
I'll have a look. Genesis_Man, It definitely can happen. Changing the material on a selection of faces (or even an entire objects) can change the number of points which means the points for the operations that follow are no longer in the same order to be re-applied. Thinking about it, with recent 3DC improvements may be possible for me to make it so this doesn't happen anymore, or happens less often, I'll add it to my list. This message has been edited. I did not change the material, I only unchecked a material update layer who was adding only a LoftTexDiff.fx shader to the two objects.
This is the top layer of the object. Never happened before on previous versions. I can send a sample if you need it. Robert |

Richard,
Just installed the new .exe and can confirm that "my problem" was solved. Also railsim shadows and specular effects seem to work ok as well Cheers, Kevin |

Robert,
I think it's pretty complicated as to detrmining when it happens/doesn't happen. It's possible that there is a new bug, but I don't recall anything in the changes I made that would have caused it. Anyone else find this occurring more frequently than in the past? Kevin, Good to hear. Bremen, I just can't figure out how to reproduce that. Can you explain to me in detail starting with dropping a cube on a scene, what you click, in which view, etc. Thanks. |

I have a new update to cure the problem Robert identified:
3D Canvas 7.1.1.3 Beta 3 Updates It includes an updated 3D Canvas executable and Material operation. The contents of this compressed folder need to be copied to "Program Files\3D Canvas 7". If asked to replace folders or files, say "yes". |

Oups!, apply material in Object Layers now of Unknown type. Lost of one texture due to destructive change by unchecking the first now Unknown Layer. Back to previous material.dll. Robert |
