Hi All,
6.0.1.3 is now available for download: http://www.3d-canvas.com/downloads/3DCanvas6013.zip. There wasn't supposed to be another release before the "scripting" release, but there was a need for a new release due to a customer's requirement for better support on shared computers. As a result of this change you'll need to re-enter your license code if you install this release. This is a small release that includes only two new functions. A new Taper operation and a new "Point Gliding" function. It also includes a bug fix of two. The next release is to be exclusively scripting. When it is released I hope to permit users to create operations (for 3D Canvas Pro), not just plug-ins and scripts. Operations are harder to write, but they provide lots more features. What's new in 3D Canvsa 6.0.1.3 ------------------------------- o) Point Gliding Points can now be moved along an edge or across a specific plane using the new point gliding function. o) New Taper Operation A new simpler Taper operation is now available. It now includes simple volume based controls to easily select the region of the object to taper. The old Taper operation is still available and is now called the Taper+ operation. Richard |

As I said above, the release is pretty small, but one feature is particularly handy IMO. Point Gliding allows you to move a point along an edge. Imagine you split an edge as in the picture below. You plan to split another edge and connect the points. But, you don't really want to bisect the edge. You would really like to have the point moved to another location on the edge. In previous releases it would have been akward to make sure that the moved point is still along the "split" edge. In the new release, holding down E and Z will guarantee that the point remains along the "split" edge.

In the picture below I held down E and Z while dragging to move the point along the edge.

Yes, you can skip releases. It won't be a problem.

I'm constantly reminded that I made a Great choice by selecting 3D CANVAS as my preferred tool for Train Simulator models.
My one big wish is that you could somehow support TRAINZ too. Thanks for your continual improvements! I really like the point glide option. Pete |

Pete[/quote] full agree with you Pete ;D I made all my models with 3Dcanvas only for import to Trainz I have to use gmax for iT > But Otherwise I Have see different models made with Gmax but 3DCanvas are the best for me. |
