Hello all,
From what I can tell, when you export to sw3d, any groups that you may have within a 3dcanvas animation are exported as a keyframe animation called meshgroupXX, where xx is your group name.

am I correct in that it is purely group based? as in each group (whether it moves or not) gets is own meshgroupXX keyframe animation?

So if I have multiple objects inside a group, they stil only get the one keyframe animation when exported, and if I want them to have their own I should split them off into their own group?

No doubt basic questions, but it would be nice to know for sure, rather than inferring from my own experiments.

Its actually pretty cool this way, as in shockwave you can apply a keyframe animtion to any model, so I can apply one objects keyframe anim to another without having to animate them individually in 3dCanvas.
Cheers Smile

Yes, position/rotation animation is group based. Skeletal is a little bit more complicated since it involves multiple groups with a skin and bones.
