Has anyone thought about or created an engine building tutorial?  Basically an engine from start to finish.  Maybe something like a GP38 or some other simple engine.

I recently purchased 3DC Pro and I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to build an engine.  And I have done the tutorials on the website.

Thanks in advance for any input.... Wink

There's a superb Steam Engine tutorial for 3DC which you can download from
http://www.railpage.org.au/steam4me/trainsim/

Highly recommended !

I still need to just do one, don't I? I'm sure that what John wants to see is a Modern Diesel Tutorial.

... and I keep meaning to do one.

Geez... I've barely started and it's 32 pages so far. I guess it's not a mini-tutorial.

These things do grow Smile

I know quite a few in the UK would be keen to read this when it's done.

I posted mine in parts on a forum, invited comments and altered the content for the final version.

Often this is a good starting point for discussions on techniques

Thats the problem isn't it Pete. With a tutorial you find yourself going over every little thing just to be clear to the end-user when you know what to do and how to do it without even really thinking. Are you including screenshots and an explanation of the tools as well ? Smile

yeah, I guess it's the screen shots that really eat up the pages.

Great.Looking forward to this when it's finished. I like collecting tutorials and tips on how each person uses different methods to make models. Smile

Pete,

How is the engine tutorial coming along? Sounds like it will be a great aide for us when you get it done. Can't wait.
