I've been working with the program back and forth for at least three or four weeks and now, for no apparent reason, Canvas is using 99% of the CPU at start up.

This doesn't taper off, either. It just keeps going, regardless of the complete lack of objects or loaded files, etc.

I opened several other memory-intensive programs (Alias Maya PLE w/models, Oblivion, etc) and I'm not getting the same result, so I don't think it's an OS issue.

This is honestly really weird; it's the first time it's happened to me with this program, ever, regardless of versions I've used.

I went through disk cleanup, defragmentation, a registry cleaning but that didn't seem to have any effect.

I finally uninstalled and reinstalled and that appears to have cleared it up. It's operating normally again.

Although it would be nice if it was repeatable, I hope it's not
