Ambient light in V7 (Resolved for 7.0.5)|

Hi Richard,
Just wondered if the Ambient light problem in V7 is anywhere near the top of your to do list. See attached pic... In V7 with just the Ambient light set to full white and all other lights set to full black. The Ambient light is almost none existant. In V6.5 with the same lighting set up the Ambient light is OK and can be adjusted as required. This is starting to cause me no end of problems now in V7. When painting textures I need to check these out in 3DC with just the ambient light active. I'm having to export the model as a .x object from V7 and load it into V6.5 just so I can set the Ambient light correctly. Bazza This message has been edited. I want to do this. I just need to find better settings. If you can point me to code for nice lighting, I'll implement it.

This will be in version 7.0.5, which should be available in a few days.
It turns out that I was dividing the ambient light value in half to make it what I though to be "similar" to 6.x. I output the real value now, and just changed the default value for it when a new scene is loaded. I've also written a conversion that will "fix" all old files and set the ambient light to an appropriate value for 7.0.5 |
