Right now I have reading tutorials on what I think is about BASIC programming. Is there a such a thing as DarkBASIC programming? From the way the author is writing he is making it sound like I am learning DarkBASIC rather than BASIC. What is going on? I am learning BASIC or DarkBASIC?

I've had a look and its a DarkBasic Pro games programming site.
The code you write with DarkBasic Pro could be described as BASIC but there are many different types of BASIC. This is just their version.
Another would be Visual Basic and another Blitz Basic.

If you'll excuse the pun, they are all Basically
similar but different.

They just let you write your code in a 'fairly' understandable language, which is then compiled for you into an executable.

The people who do darkbasic are about to bring out a "first person shooter creator" maybe you should look into this as an option ?

No. If you use Blitz you must use the Blitz Basic language, but they are all very similar so if you can use VB you would get used to the others very quickly.
