Not sure if this should be here (again) but I am posting this here because the problem only shows itself after an export using the trainz plugin.

I usually only use one square texture large enough to accomodate whatever I'm making but on this occasion as I'm building a fairly simple clock tower which is quite high I decided to mostly use 125*250 textures. About 3 of them for the main bodies of the tower. I discovered pretty early on that they don't display properly unless they are either jpg or bmp, so tga is out.

The model textured quite easily in 3dc being basically a fairly simple set of elongated boxes, one on top of the other. When I checked it in the game I found that some textures wouldn't load and those that had which were those of the boxes were all squewed diagonally. The thing is the model looks fine in 3dc but when exported the textures have all gone haywire and some aren't used at all. I'm sure I've probably overlooked something so what could have caused this and what is the solution.

Thanks, Tony

Hmm, I must have been sleeping. The texture sizes are not a power of 2. Smile I'm sure that's probably it. It was an id10t problem as those smug IT guys like to call it Smile

Yea, that did the trick. Sorry for posting such a noob problem.

regards, Tony

That's so easy to stumble over until you get in the habit of checking for it, and in these forums, newby questions are treated with the same courtesy as all others - thank goodness!

I lost my grids by accidentally switching off a button without noticing it (kept trying to select the background options, never seeing that the button itself was off, duh) - I knew it was simple, but I just couldn't spot my mistake. Here, I was gently reminded of what to look for... ^_^

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes they all gang up on me at once!
