I know this is unlikely as most people would use such a thing for importing copyrighted material but has anybody created a shape file importer for 3D Canvas or any other modelling program?

I accidentally wrote over a model I was working on last night and the only backup of the model that I have is several "versions" old and missing the time consuming and tedious modifications I've made to it since. The only up to date version is an exported shape file...

So please, someone save me from a lot of tedium and tell me that such a thing exists.

No, it doesn't exist. I'm certain that Paul Gausden has the "know how" to make a shape file importer. I'm not so sure that he would actually release one though

It is not released, but has it's uses in certain circumstances.

Any chance I could have a look at that Paul ?
