Frequently Asked Questions
This is caused by the Microsoft Windows' Data Access Components being out of date. These can be updated by installing Windows XP Service Pack 2. Ok. But with sp2, with all the patch from windowsupdate already installed, with the latest mdac 2.8 sp1, from today i have the above error. Until today the 6.6.5.8 version was able to run without the error #91 even on the other pc with win xp sp1. What's happened in a night? I know i can be a little boring but the "almighty" 6.5.1.0. is working as good as always. Bye bYe Bremen |

This is happening every time you run 3D Canvas? Can you send your "3D Canvas.log" file from your "My Documents" folder to support@amabilis.com?

Sorry but the log is gone.
After several hours of that error #91 i was so tired to see it that i take the decision to kill all the installations of 3dcanvas on the two machines. With the reinstallation i have "solved" the error. If there will be this problem another time i will send the log. Bye Bye Bremen |

It's possible that if you are switching back and forth from 6.5 to 6.6 that you could end up with a registry entry that 6.6 doesn't like. If this is the case, an uninstall/reinstall will fix it. Or you could manually delete this registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\3D Canvas.
Each version should have it's own set of registry entries, but unfortunately doesn't. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Amabilis Support, |

thanks for the advice
In fact i'm doing back and forth from 6.5 to 6.6 to do a double check of my object. Until now only 2 objects had problems in the conversion but i have done the correction, so they are as new as before After some back and forth the 6.5 version says error #384: can be in conjunction with the other error? Yes, definitely that could be the problem. I'd try using Regedit to remove that key. That's the fastest and easiest way to fix these sorts of problems.
I'm curious, are you using the "Upgrader" add-in? |

Yes, i'm using the Upgrader add-in.
I have done two or three conversion without it but the objects came out with all the faces unlinked. One of the object is still with unlinked face but i have done some modification on it and i don't want to redo that thing onether time (i still have a copy of it into the 6.5 version) Bye Bremen This message has been edited. Suddenly I have the error 91 today.
I removed : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\3D Canvas but it's like a reinstallation when starting 3DC after the key removal. So I did an actual desinstallation / reinstallation. |

And you're not switching between releases anymore?

I don't think so.
Maybe I opened 6.5.1.0 to compare a feature (I don't use 6.5.1.0 as 6.6.5.10 is better and my current model is in 6.6.5 format)? I don't remember as the #91 error occured on the first opening of 6.6.5.10, 2 days after I used 3DC previously. No problems with 6.6.5.11 but I did very little operations on the model as I double checked my model before doing some boolean operations (to be done this week). (this is mostly what I emailed to you; I put the reply here to complete the topic) This message has been edited. Last edited by: DOM107, |
