I installed 3DC 7.0.0.1 Pro on my laptop. The icons on the tabs at the top of the construction panels are missing as are the icons on the hierarchy panel. These are the only ones not showing up. I've attached a screenshot. Here are my computer stats.
HP Pavillion zt1175 Pentium 4 512mb ram Video Card: S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR w/latest driver (32mb Memory Fixed) Screen Resolution: 1024x768 32bit Color. OS: WinXP Home SP2 w/latest updates. Thanks for any help. Mike Adams 3DCcropped.jpg (33 Kb, 48 downloads) |

I have seen this. It seems to be a problem with not having enough memory on the graphics card. I've actually only seen it with chips on the motherboard that share the main memory. But this is not the case here? You are certain of this?
Can you try this: 1) Create a new texture library and material library (or delete all the items in the existing ones) 2) close and re-open 3D Canvas. I'm curious to see if this fixes it. |

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't completly fix the problem. As you can see by the attachment, I now have the hierarchy ladder showing. As for my graphics card, it IS on the motherboard and shares main memory. It's fixed at 32mb. So that may be the problem. At some point I'll up my memory to 1gig and maybe that will fix the problem. It doesn't keep me from doing anything. It's just annoying.

Maybe there are some settings in the bios for your computer to increase the amount of memory available for graphics? It's typical for this to be the case.
