I can't really figure out why but my version 6.5.0.5 just decided to start throwing an error 3041 at the "Loading Materials" stage while starting up the program. Oddly enough it has worked fine for quite some time until just recently started doing this. Also, if I try to run in compatability mode, I get a "Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument" error instead.

The only thing I have installed that I can think of could affect this is a recent security update for DirectX. I have tried removing the security update and reinstalling 3DC but to no avail. I have also tryed updating my graphics drivers and MSDAC as well. I don't really see how it could be driver related as the drivers I was using worked just fine for quite some time. So far nothing has worked and I am quite discouraged .

Out of frustration I downloaded and installed the new 6.6 alpha but have the same problem as well (error 1004). I never get into the program to get a chance to try different settings out or anything. I read in the 6.5.0.5 release post that there is currently no known fix for this and I do not know what else to try.

Windows XP

Have you tried restoring your computer to a restore point before this started to happen?

Error 3041 is an "incompatible database" error. Sometimes this can be corrected by this procedure:
