Group Selection Tool causes Computer to hang. When I select a group the computer freezes except for cntrl-alt-delete which I used to end the program.

The send/dont send says " 3DCanvas Appver 6.6.0.511 Modname. hungapp

A new development. It stopped hanginging the computer. If I use the tool with the <alt> key held down and make a seclection of an edge on a primitive cube for example, it takes about 6 seconds or longer to respond: then only with the blue squares on the front two corners, but not on the rear two corners.

I'm using the latest NVidea drivers for the 5900 series graphics cards.

The alt-key indicates only select points on faces that oriented in your viewing direction. So that's probably correct. I think there may have been some changes to how the alt-key works with the group selection tool a while back.

No, this cube is not an empty scene. It is an MSTS model from an earlier version of 3DCanvas. (see also http://amabilis.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7046019974/m/547...10877731#86610877731 ).

One item, a small 2 foot x 2 foot single sided rectangle, somehow got the highlight of a giant cube over a 100 feet x 50 feet and threw my hierachy for a loop until I found what was causing the problem. I deleted this rectangle and draged a primitive cube onto the canvas in order to create a new 2 X 2 single side rectangle and thats where I ran into trouble with the group selection tool.

Maybe I should take you up on your offer from the url above and send you the 3DC model as it was before I imported it into 6.6.0.511 and let you go through the routines. I could also send you the MSTS 's' file of the model so that you can see that it was a completed working model. Where/How would I pm the model to you?
