I've been having this problem for long, but haven't had the time to trace it. Now I took the time, and here's what I found out.

When I use the divide operator with horizontal and vertical options I get extra points to sides that arent shared by two faces.

Not so clear? :P, well here's instructions to repeat it.

1) Create a cube.
2) Remove one of it's faces. When you switch the rendering mode to wireframe and then to points, you should see something like this:


3) Then select a face and divide it horizontaly, I divided the face on the opposite side of the cube (than the removed face). When checking the wireframe and point rendering modes, you should see something like this:



Notice the extra points on the sides of the face we removed? Compare the picture above to this one, where no faces are removed.


This is really annoying while modelling with the auto miroring, so I hope this can be fixed to the next version.
