Chamfer operation keeps original points|

Hi Richard,
It seems that 3D Canvas do not remove the original points after having applied the chamfer operation on one or more edges of an object. If I take a cube, at beginning, we have 6 faces and 8 points. If I chamfer two edges, the result is 8 faces and 16 points instead of 8 faces and 12 points. Thanks. Robert |

Yes, it looks like it isn't optimizing. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not. It could be intentional in order to support the post-chamfer scaling feature. I can't say for certain without looking into it. In the mean time, many other operations will optimize your objects when applied to it. Also, you can use the optimize operation.
I also think there is often automatic optimizing when a file is being exported. This will depend on the format being exported to. |
