I have an Error -2147221503 on start Canvas 6 & 7.
I have installed the directx (see amabilis web page, download)

Grafikcard: evga eGeForce 7900 GS KO
Vista Ultimate, 2 Giga Ram, German

Can everyone help please?

It may be possible to fix this by using Windows "System Restore" to go back to a earlier state of Windows. Search the Windows help for "System Restore" to find out the specifics.

I have the same issue, could it be an issue with compatability with DX10? which is native to vista, i dont have any other problems with other directx software

Is nothing to do with System Restore. The System works perfect, all Games work fine with directx 10.

With other Grahiccard (nvidia 6600 with 128 mb Ram) i have NO problem,

Okay: nvidia 6600

why system restore?
what is wrong with directx 10?

I'm suffering the same issue. I installed 3D Canvas 7.0.2.2 yesterday but get error #-2147221503 "Unable to configure DirectX ensure most recent version of DirectX is installed and Video card drivers are up to date."

I'm running on Vista (32-bit) with an ATi Radeon X1950PRO video card using the latest Catalyst 7.8 drivers.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'd like to get started on a couple of projects!

I have buy the profesional version, but i can't use.

PLEASE can you make correction to run on my german vista system?

I have installed the news directx!
But i can't renistall the entry system, canvas is not alone on my system i have many other programs installed with aktivation keys. new install is wery bad thgings.

Somebody on another forum suggested making sure User Access Control is turned ON, I tried this and 3D Canvas Pro now runs fine on my system (Amabilist customer support later confirmed this).

I think when you install on Vista a message should be displayed during setup to let you know to make certain UAC is switched on as I know a lot of users have switched it off to work around other issues and having to have UAC switched on will come as a surprise (switching it off is often one of the first things many Vista users will try if they have problems).
