YAF = Yet Another Fighter….hehehe

Copyright it before you send it andnbsp;;D

Hi everyone,
This model is my idea of what a Next Generation X-Wing might look like.
Modelled from a single cylinder(extrude tool used for wings, guns, etc), with the canopy and seat as addons, then finished in MegaPov.
Les

Thanks indi
You can’t see it very well in this pic, but the wings have a swept foward look. I guess I was playing copy-cat from the star wars folks, but I like the way it turned out, and I think it would look great in the next starwars movie or game……. ;D

take me to the stars in that craft! <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –> nice one ::)

Alex,
I honestly can’t explain why the symetry came out so good.
I used a cylinder(longitude/latitude/ratio set to 2, 30, 100), then squashed it a little in height, tapered it, and did a couple of small extrudes for the nose. After that I extruded the rear(large end) to get the area for the cockpit, wings, and tail section.
I extruded four sections(faces) as a beggining for the wings, then scaled and shifted them back a little. Next I extruded, scaled, and shifted the four wing sections(shifted foward for the swept foward look) again for the outer portions of the wings, and finally did several extrudes for the guns.
The only other thing I can say is that when I had multiple parts to be extruded, or shifted, I did them all at the same time, and exact same amounts. Scaling was the only operation that I did on an individual basis on this model.
I hope this is a good answer… andnbsp; andnbsp;:-/
Les

Very beautifull! andnbsp;How did you manage to get it symmetrical using extrude?

Alex

Yep, and a great result you got <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>

Thanks indi, alex, and simon.
Anyone think I should send a pic of this to the Star Wars Folks? andnbsp;;D
