When Crease and Triangulate don’t work their magic

I’ve had similar troubles with various models.

It is often difficult to select the face at fault – usually I select another face on the same object, hold down the ctrl key and select the faulty face, then de-select the first face again.

I then delete the face and re-build the face with the create triangle plugin from the points around the hole.

I’ve been working on a model (in 5.7 since that what I started it with) and I’ve run into problems.

I have a number of parts on the model that look ok andquot;inandquot; the modeler and when a snapshot is taken, however, when exported to the SIM, the lighting is all wrong. in some of the parts. They show up either too LIGHT or too DARK when rendered in the sim.

I checked… all the parts are andquot;normandquot;.

I triangulated and creased with no change to the affected parts.

I had a lot of crashes since I didn’t realize that I was using an old version of Paul’s Cab Creator plugin. I’m not sure if that is where the problem stared or not.

It’s probably due to the fact that som of these parts had unseen faces removed. andnbsp;I just don’t know what to try next… any clues?

Thanks Paul…

Good guidance…

Pete Blows a Rasberry at himself for messing up. ;D

I had a lot of difficulty fixing the parts, so I just re-made them over again. (They used to work correctly, it’s odd to me that they just started acting badly)

The interesting part… while doing this… I remade the cab using the latest plugin for 5.7… (I had originally done it from scratch) and I discovered that is does not like to be creased… at all. Unless I want it to look messed up… go figure… I can’t tell what I did to it.

Anyway… All better now… thanks again

Pete
