weekly poser

weekly poser, something new to test us modellers.
First up a hard one, maybe.
using 3dc 9.0.1
This loco was imported from lightwave and is fine in canvas, and will convert and run in Railworks. However at first export, the loco was half submerged, yet ran fine <!– s;-) –><!– s;-) –>
after a bit of a muck around with 3dc it nows is at the correct rail level, but is over to one side a fair way, couplers are in correct place however (over the rail)

So the poser is……

1. Whats wrong with the model that it will not sit in the correct place and at the correct height.
2. How do you fix it without pulling the model to bits and starting again.

theres no prizes or anything, the best answer, as decided by admin, will get to place the next poser question.

Theres prob many ways of fixing this problem, the idea is we would like to hear all them. as long as they work.<!– s:?: –><!– s:?: –>

well, I am surprised no one wants to take part in this. Just trying add some more knowledge to the gene pool.
Anyway heres the next weekly poser for you all……

I have a model, which I have been given to finish off and release.
Now when opening the model, the thing is massive, seems my offsider models in feet and inchs. I model in metres.
So how do I convert this model over without resizing the complete model.
Or damaging what maybe a perfectly built model.

OK… there you go… not a hard one, and no I do not know the answers, theres the off change there is more than one way to sort it.

Also if your just not interested in some weekly or monthly posers to test us all. Feel free to say, so I can stop wasting my time coming up with them…..

The axis of the main group needs to be central and at rail height.

Try using my shift group and animations script on the main group.
Adjust the X axis value so that it is central and re-export.
