Wagon Tutorial and Trial Version of 3d canvas

Hi Jason

If it helps, you could post a few questions about the operations that aren’t available to you in the free version. I’m sure someone here will help either steer you through the operations you do have access to or tell you what you’re missing with the ‘pro’ version <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>.

The plug-ins add some great functionality and make a lot of aspects of modelling easier (*). If you feel comfortable with the general approach via the free version, then I’m sure you’ll not be disappointed.

* I don’t have experience of TSM so I can’t comment on differences etc. I did originally try using GMAX but didn’t get on very well with it. I’ve been using 3DC for a while, and whilst I’m no expert – certainly not compared to some of the folks here (and at UKTRAINSIM)- I can do pretty much what I want to without too much struggling.

Cheers

John

Hi all,
I am currently using TSM and am looking at changing to 3DC Pro. I am trying out the wagon tutorial to see if the program suits me. My question is following the instructions provided (besides exporting which I know I am unable to do with free version) some of the features required are not avavliable. Is there a way around this so I can really try the program features with modelling MSTS?.

All the best,

Jason.

Sorry, but I believe that the use of plug-ins is not permitted with the free version. The idea is to have the program to try it out. As far as I know, everything is possible with the default command set if not always easy. I’m pretty sure that if you can make some simple things with the free version you’ll see that the way of doing things with 3DC is quite simple yet powerful and if you need a 3D program at a reasonable price for things like MSTS or RS or even FSX (plus many more) then this is the program.
