Hi every one,i have just upgraded my pc,with a new graphic card,and i wondered if there was anything from the site,for my card upgrade,some times when i am using the 3DC,i get a round sad yellow face,showing in the top right hand corner of the 3DC.
I was just wondering,that if this yellow face has appeared,because i have upgraded my graphic card.
I would be very gratefull,if some one could help me with this matter.

The yellow face does appear at times if you have changed graphics drivers, DirectX or any of the windows components that 3DC uses to run. It allows you re-test compatability when you next run 3DC.

Its no real problem unless its happening all the time.

Hi,thanks for the info on the problem vulcan,the sad face does keep coming up,a lot,even when the test compatibility does run its self,after i next use 3DC,after i start to use the 3DC,i can be half way,making a model of some thing,then it comes up,saying 3DC needs to shut down,and the yellow face is in the corner when this happens.
I do not know what it will need to stop this problem keep happening frequently.
I would be gratefull if you could tell me what will stop this problem.

Sounds more like an issue with Directx or a graphics card driver as 3DC shouldn’t be doing that too often at all.

Do the FAQ’s help any and do you get an error message number other than the ‘3d must close’ ?

Also have you noticed any other instability with your system that may be realted to your graphics card drivers ?

Also..have you checked to see if you have the latest set of drivers. Although the graphics card may be new, the drivers supplied with it may not be the latest ones.

Which card have you got, and how much memory is there with it.
How much system memory do you have.

Hi,Vulcan,and Bazza,the graphic card i had put in about a month ago is a
Radeon 9600 Pro,Atlantis,128MB.
My pc is a AMD Athelon(tm)XP 2000X,1.66GHz,512MB of RAM.
I have only had my pc,about a year and a half,and i have not got a lot of knowledge about pc`s.
I am halfway on making a model,and some times,the mouse movement seems a bit slower,and i have just made a phone box up,using the inset section button,and made an oblong box,then i used the inset section button again,to make another oblong box,inside the first one,to make a thin wall,for the model,when i came to put textures on the model,i had one of the faces missing of the box,so i could only texture three of the faces,that was one problem i noticed with the 3DC,then last night,i had got the model on the screen,then dragged a sphere onto the screen,then when i come to use the flat wire mode,normaly,one is a blue colour,and one a green colour,but last night,both the cube,and the sphere,there was no colours with both of them,when the flatwire frame was pressed.
The other night,i was using the point tool,and when i used the divide to to join the pionts together,normaly,they just come on the screen,but the other night,when i pressed the divide tool,instead of the place where i selected to divide,the hole face of the model,went like crazy paving,then it went back to the normal divide,where i had selected the area,to divide.
So this is 3 incidents,what i had with the 3DC,what was out of place.
I do not know where you have to go to,on the web,to get the free driver udates.
I would be very gratefull,if you could help me with this problem with the driver updates.
