Trouble with LODs again

Hans – I had never had this problem, untill yesterday!

I now have a model that will only export with one LOD – any more and MSTS crashes after selecting the loco to run.

I have yet to examine the S file in more detail, but I suspect it is something to do with the use of translucency within the main group (which generates a sub object in the S file)

(also a good excuse to show a pic of the model <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –> )

(Since I haven’t been able to log in to this forum I posted a similar question at the Atomic Systems forum. Sorry for the duplication.))

I’ve always had troubles using multiple LODs therefore I restrict myself to using only 2. But sometimes I have problems even with these like now:
I built a model of a 2axle carriage, exported it using the Wizard with 2 LODs, everything worked well in MSTS.
Then I reloaded the model and the only action I did was a andquot;swap textureandquot; with the plugin and to be on the safe side a andquot;crease allandquot;. Exported again (renamed) and then the troubles began. The model loaded twice into MSTS but showed strange behavior; once it showed several wagonlengths behind the pulling loco with nothing between, the second time I had built a new consist with two carriages one carriage was shown some place in front of the loco the second quite a lot behind it. In both cases there was a lot of bumping going on and the sim ended with the message that a wagon was derailed.
Several other times I tried to load this carriage the sim crashed with the first screen.
After exporting with no LOD everything worked fine in MSTS.
Any clues?
Btw it really would be nice to get more control over the LODs.

You really should put that in the model feedback part. andnbsp; Not enough trains. andnbsp;Great train Paul. andnbsp;Sorry about the off topic
