Trainsim Wizard query.

Thanks Richard,
Sorry I took a couple of days to get back to you, I was working on another project.

The new TSW seems to work fine now, certainly the tender now works OK.

On a different topic, I have been studying the TSW VB samples and have learned a lot from them. It is great to see how an expert codes things (I have been using VB since VB2, but have never had a lesson, so just meander on my way repeating my mistakes – it is nice to get some good examples of a program which really works <!– s:-) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":-)" title="Smile" /><!– s:-) –> )

Many thanks – Mike.

Hi Richard,

A few weeks ago, I had problems with a steam loco I was building, and in the end I traced this to an incorrect value in the tender .wag file and thought nothing more about it.

However yesterday, I posted a new steam loco on a local site and began to get complaints that it would not run under Windows 98 (it was fine under Windows XP).

On checking the .wag file for the tender produced by the TSW, I find the following items:-

Size andnbsp;( 2.591917m 3.65868m 6.520642m )

InertiaTensor ( Box (3m 3m 19.4m) )

However the MSTS documentation states that the InertiaTensor values should be the same as the size settings?

Altering the InertiaTensor settings to the Size settings allows the loco to run fine under Windows 98.

Regards – Mike.

Mike,

Thanks for doing the research on this. I’ll be putting out a patch for the MSTS Wizard in the new few days to correct this.

Richard

I should mention, it may require 5.5c to run. It might run with earlier versions-I can’t say for sure. If you are running an earlier version make sure to rename your current wizard andquot;TrainSimWizardBAKandquot; before installing the new one in case you have to revert. If you have 5.5c you won’t need to do this.

Richard

Thanks Richard, will give it a go tonight.

Mike.
