Texture problem…

Hi Bazza,
Actually…no. The model is in a Blitz file so I could keep better track of my project, the textures are in my 3DC texture folder. I dont think this is the problem, some textures stay. Everytime I open the scene, some are there, some are gone. I tried it agaion last night seeing if different things had an affect. This time, the 30 wall faces i textured were still there, but the roof faces I did are gone. I will try moving the model into the 3DC models folder, but the textures have always been in a seperate folder in 3DC. Novice texture question… could there be any differences in using .bmp and .jpg? Maybe a 128 MB card cant handle the poly’s and face texturing? You know Baz that I’ve been ready to upgrade again anyway…maybe its time. Although I would have thought that a scene this size shouldnt be a problem. Thqanks for any help….

I built an Industrial complex. The scene is a single cube extruded to death. Face count is 7459, point count 12155. I just spent about 5 hours texturing the scene… I’m doing face by face, using panel textures. I took a break and when I came back to start again… when 3DC loaded up and I opened the scene.. only the textures I used in the very beginning were in place. Maybe 40 faces or so. This scene has been compacted many times, during the texturing, and saved about every 20 faces or so. This is the second time this has happened … I actually had to trash the first scene because every time I saved the scene, then reopened it.. the textures were gone or in the case of the first model.. started showing textures in the wrong places. Anybody got any ideas? can you compact too much? Is this scene too large? My drivers are up to date, applying the textures goes fine, I save it, close it and reopen it and the textures this time were gone. Layers still shows the compact, and a few applied textures. I’ve got a 9200 with 128Mb card. Thanks in advance for any help all…..Oh and by the way.. the file size is only 4.12 Mb

I know it’s obvious…. but you do have all the textures in the same folder as the model. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
