steet scene….

Les- Your one of my favorites-I’ll try some more.

This is another WIP. I am using it to learn things in POV such as focal blur, ( just alittle in this one) atmosphere, and using a code called ‘ looks_like’ in pov to make lights like spot lights for example, to look like a bulb. I actually have about a dozen pics of this one, because each view is so different. And yes, this was actually modelled after a POV hall of fame, though nowhere near as good. The whole scene was modelled in #DC, this time it was also textured in 3DC, then exported to POV and all the goodies were added there.

Very nice, blaydrnnnr! I’m green <!– s:P –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!– s:P –>- POV gave me fits.

Thanks KB! <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –> I really dig working with POV. Theres so many goodies in it, its alot of fun. The only thing with it is, this pic, rendered with focal blur took about an hour. When I use radiosity, it ran for three days before I finally shut it down and decided to just use the current settings!! <!– s:o –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif" alt=":o" title="Surprised" /><!– s:o –> Anyways…. thanks again… here’s the same pic with no blur by the way. Thanks again Richard!! 6.5 is amazing!!I’m having just too much fun!! <!– s:D –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!– s:D –>

Once again-nice. I’m going to have to look into 2 screens, I got dizzy going back and forth looking at the differences.LOL I agree about the controll with POV, but Les could never get it through my thick head so I turned elsewhere. <!– s:roll: –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!– s:roll: –>

Looks great! I’m trying to organize some ideas I have for an animation (which will hopefully turn into a short film of sorts) that will utilize plenty of urban-type street scenes.

I really like your screenshots. . .really the only constructive ‘criticism’ I can think of is that the street texture could be improved to lessen the rather distracting tiling effect. Looks great!

blaydrnnnr,
Great work guy….I like it. I do agree about the tiling effect on the street surface. Could a brick street suface pattern possibly be used to counteract the tiling?

KB,
Believe me, Pov wasn’t easy for me either, and there are still lots of things yet for me to learn . I just keep plugging away as time permits and some days all that info in front of me actually filters through to my brain. hahaa

Les

Thanks again guys for the comments. Theres still alot going to go into this scene so it wont be the last time its seen.
KB, the focal blur was minimal, so it’s alittle hard to tell the difference.
I agree with you all about the street texture, in an earlier version of this scene, I had it perfect. An asphalt texture with a great look to it and you couldnt see any tiling. That too will be updated at a later date.
Troub, I too am wanting to do some Movie making… but I have only played alittle with animation. But that is my ultimate goal…. to someday do some short movies. Thanks again all for the comments, and theres alot more coming…as I said before, 3DC just keeps getting better and better and I’m having way too much fun!!!!! Keep Modelling!!!!!

Three days without a computer – I would go nuts !

Nice scene – looking forward to the next one.

Some pretty good free textures at- [img:cdidzpyh]http&#58;//www&#46;vb3d&#46;com/Textures&#46;html[/img:cdidzpyh]

Including roads.
You must have 2 puters- I’ve had 3 hour renders and thought I would go nuts with Alan. <!– s:roll: –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!– s:roll: –>
