Serious RailSim igs export problem! (Resolved)

Selecting while holding down ‘a’ made a considerable difference in the exported file! <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
Thought it strange if such a basic task would have slipped passed testing.
One of the easier problems to solve.
No downloaded and installed 8.1.1 without problem.
Going to read the tutorial next to see if there is other changes that I have not noted.
A BIG thank you for this major update of 3DC, a task well done! <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

From what I can tell the Trainworks RailSim IGS export only exports the selected object and nothing else!
Neither other objects in the same group nor objects in child groups.
I’m exporting a coach and all I get into RailSim is the main body part.
No boggies, no wheels, no details made as separate objects.
Hierarchy exported fine in 3DC 7.1.2 and trying other models that exportes fine in previous version gives the same result.
Importing the igs file back into 3DC shows the same thing, only the main body part shows up in 3DC!
I’m running 3DC 8.1.0.1267 and using the FileExportTrainworksIGS menu.
Tried selecting the whole hierarchy and then export or selecting the parent group but 3DC did not like that at all!

I’m also getting some really interesting effects in wire-frame and outline view with the attached object.
Solid smooth view it looks perfectly okay and previously it has been fine in the other views also.

All the export plugins have changed their behaviour for 8+ (see help text)

Selecting all the objects and the hierarchy may work (can’t remember the keystrokes needed)

Sorry, yes, hold down ‘a’ while selecting the ‘root’ shape. Or right-click on it and choose ‘Select-andgt;Hierarchy’

I’ll have to add this to the documentation.

while on the subject, were does one put shader details in the new version?

The ‘Rail Sim’ custom material field. The same as the original.
