How can I select a group of objects for operations and texturing such as the pillars in the subway station in the image below?

Richard, Is it possible for me to write VBScript to create one pillar, texture it, and make copies of the pillar along one axis? Is it possible for me to create the pillars and texture them in another drawing, save the pillars as 3DC Objects, and put them in drawings of subway stations? Jeffrey.
