Scalling Projects

Stay focused on 7.2…..I still have more tutorials to read along with all of the most of the Help files. It shouldn’t take too long before I have all of my questions answered. If not, I’ll get back to you. Thanks again.

I have imported a project from TSM and the project is much larger than I want. I know you can set the scale at the time of import, but if you do not know or pick the wrong scale, how can you scale a project, not just an element, once it is in 3DC? Also, is there any advantage to working with a project in a larger scale and then scalling it down at the time you want to build it?

Thanks, Greg Davies

That is exactly what I ended up doing as there was no other apparent way of doing it. Just seems there should be some way to do it within 3DC. Oh well. It is a trial and error process, just time consuming but it does work. Thanks for the input.

I found the way to do it. Actually I read it in some of the help and tutorials. I was sure it could happen, just wasn’t sure how. Here is how. Click on an object in the model, right click on the object and select Hierarcy. It should then encompass the entire model. Right click again and do the scale on the entire model. There is another way to do it selecting each object in the model, but this way is faster and more accurate.

Funny… I just thought of how to do this myself. I knew of course. After all, I did write the tutorial. But, my mind is pretty focused on 7.2 these days and not very good at much else. <!– s:) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!– s:) –>
