Re: Help

I wish i could fix my system that easily.. :-[

Not heard of this one….any chance of some screen grabs ?

Have you tried with a new scene and just a basic (cube) object ? Does this work ?
Are all your drivers (video card) up to date ? What card do you have ?

I have checked the system properties and in device manager clicked display adapters and got:

andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;Intel(R)810e Chipset Graphics Driver (DC133)

Is this my video card/driver ? andnbsp;by the way I tried changing to RGB emulation and it done the job…..but
now when I navigate the scene the veiw takes ages to refresh same with any of the actions.

Why could this be?

That is my thought too. It really looks like a video card driver problem. I would also be curious to know what video card you have.

Richard

The only idea I have is to try andquot;rgb emulationandquot; (in options/device) rather than direct3dHAL….. might help ?

What is your video card/driver ?

here’s one when highlighting a face! :'(

here’s one when face is selected :'( :'(

andnbsp; and if i try to move the face or point, these shapes and colors also move making it fairly difficult to do any modeling

I believe that the RGB Emulation turns it off all hardware acceleration (hopefully if I am wrong someone will correct me here).

As for recommending a new card…… i use an ATI Radeon VE which serves me well. It appears to me that a new faster graphic card (or video card if you prefer – the same thing as far as I know) appears every month.

Your motherboard manufacturer might have updated drivers on their website.

Reducing your screen colour depth might also help to speed up 3DC.

am i working in andquot;software onlyandquot; andnbsp;because i changed to RGB? andnbsp; wireframe helps a small bit….not enough

yes on board…what new card would you recommend?

i updated all drivers on my computer yesterday and i have already been using the best drivers for all devices. Is there any other way i can do this? say on the net for example?

are video cards andamp; graphics cards the same?

THANKS for the help and information!

andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp; sorry for being such a pest!

James.

As I understand it…..

You are now working in andquot;software onlyandquot; so your cpu has to do all the work rather than asking the video card to work it out, so it is slower <!– s:( –><!– s:( –> … maybe working in wireframe might help ?

Intel(R)810e – is that onboard ? If so then one option would be a new card (make sure that your m/b will take one (agp slot)… another would be to try to get the latest drivers for the one you have…

Alan

i checked the motherboards website andnbsp;and updated to Graphics Driver [WIN9XE66.EXE, 2002 ::) from some 99 version that i had! ::)
3dc is now running perfect! ;D ;D ;D

again THANKS for the info! <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

now i think its time to do one of the tutorials.
