Why did 3dc use POV?…. Was there something about it over other RTs?

Etc…. The list goes on and on.

Some of em are better that others (and there are loads of andquot;Upgradesandquot; for stuff like Povray) but I think that you could use most of them.

As far as I know it is full compat with PR3.5, and there are lots of places where ya can go for info and downloads.

Well… MegaPOV and MegaPOVPlus are just POVRay of course, Radiance is unix only, Moray is a modeller for POVRay etc. The point is that there aren’t many andquot;freeandquot; raytracers that would actually work and of those that do very few (if any) are in the same class as POVRay.
