Question for Game Developers

Hi Mel,
Thanks for the reply. I found out after posting the message that the controls are actually coded in to the game, so there’s no way I can change it…. <!– s:( –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!– s:( –>

Thanks anyway,

Les

In a flight sim type game, how are the flight controls set for the joystick? Is this done in a .DLL file, .CFG file, or ?

The reason I ask is because I want to reset the individual joystick axis(XYZ) controls in a game and can’t seem to find any file, or joystick setting that will allow me to change them.

IF these controls are set in a .DLL file, then is it possible to edit?

Thanks for any info,

Les

That’s a pretty broad question, Les.

For starters, control input is something that the programmer codes into the engine. It’s not something that a blanket convention exists for, and generally is engine-specific.

There’s no real answer for your question without more specific criteria.
