P-47D (wip)

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the kudos. I’d love to have a scenario with B-17s or B-24s being escorted by some Mustangs on their way to Germany.

Hi Scott,

Eventually I’d like to use them in some sort of simulation or maybe make a scenario where they are flying. I’ve got plans to build a Spitfire, BF109, FW190, P-38, B-17 and B-24. I’ve got some Glenn Miller music for the background <!– s:D –><!– s:D –>. Once I learn how to use the particle thingy, I’ll work on adding visual effects such as a pair of jugs attacking a train yard or something like that. My idea is a pretty ambitious project actually.

The P-38 could do that too. They actually lost a couple of aircraft to ‘compression’ before they installed the speed brakes to control the dive speed. Did you know that the same guy that was on the design team for the P-38 was in on the SR-71? His name was Kelly Johnson, he headed up the Lockheed Skunk Works.

Thanks for the compliment.

Richard

Just about finished with it.

Another nice model Richard…hasn’t taken as long as the first one <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

Thanks buddy. The first one taught me a lot. This one is more symmetrical, and has a lot less faces. I’ll put the finished product up in a few days.

Keep ’em coming <!– s:) –><!– s:) –> <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>
You’ll have enough for a squadron soon.

Nice JUG Richard… One of my favorites… Well the F4U is really my favorite – but – that one is a close second…

About 10 years ago – I built a .60 size F4U RC Model – complete with working flaps and retractable landing gear… Cost more than $1000.00 to build and equip…

Oops – sidetracked a second… <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

Do you models fly in one of the simulators or are they static models ??? The ‘jug’ was one plane that could break the sound barrier in a dive – although I heard it was a real bear to pull out of it…

Look’n Good…

Regards,
Scott
