Old Style Sailing Ship

Mmmmmh.
There is a post stamp in Italy with the same error; because was a VERY limited edition now is worth many moneies ;D

Hi Everyone,
This model was created entirely in 3DC Pro. I haven’t given it a tremendous amount of detail(rigging, etc) yet, but I wanted to get some opinions on it so far. The snapshot was taken with MegaPov rendering and AA set to 4x.
Let me know what you think,

Great! With the right textures can be amazing…

This picture shows the same ship finished in MegaPov…… ;D

Isnt’ true.
The textures are ALWAYS challenging. <!– s;) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!– s;) –>
My latest trials in texturing dropped the best part of my Sanity…

il_barbudo,
Thanks. The textures were a little more challenging on this one.

It seems that you are not being bored… andnbsp;;D
Good job… andnbsp;;)

I understand completely. I’ve pulled out several handfuls of hair with more than a few textures. And I dont have any hair to spare….. :-/
What I meant was that there are like 35 different wood textures in Pov, not counting those in 3DC, and deciding on just one that looked right was the problem.
I’m now trying to work out a method of getting a andquot;wood plankingandquot; look on the model so that the texture could be applied to each plank(board) individually. That’s the type of look I would like to have on this model.

Lovely model, but can I point out one thing – the flags at the top are going the wrong way. If the wind is blowing to fill those sails, it is blowing forwards.

ianm,
hehehe, I kinda wondered if someone would notice that. I didn’t think about it until after posting the pic.
