Object subtracting issue

Another tip…

Scale the object by 4x in all directions, do the subtract, then scale by 0.25 in all directions.

Used to be a function that would allow me to create an arch in a cube face by using the cylinder shape and subtracting it from the cube to create a rounded opening. I have 3DC Plus but not Pro (v7.0.2.2) and wonder if that feature is still in Pro as it is no longer mentioned in the comparitive lists?

Hi
I think you may be referring to the ‘Boolean functions’ ? I have them in my v7.2 Pro version. They aren’t especially smart as they seem to create lots of random little faces/points/sides which can become a nuisance.

cheers

To limit such risks, the objects must be closed objects (no face removed or solidify operation used prior to using a boolean operation)

Ah! well, thanks for that!
