Night Glow

Drop that useless TexDiff shader and start using a REAL shader <!– s;) –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!– s;) –>

I’ve noticed that models in Railworks glow at night unless you change the ambient value. I’ve also notices that changing the diffuse, ambient, and specular values makes absolutely no impact on how the model looks during the day, although these effects will show up when editing in 3DC. Railworks seems to light the structure brightly whether you use different material properties or not.

So what is a standard ambient value for Railworks? Twenty is way too bright for a night texture.

Because the rendering software is different for 3dc and RW the modelling tools can only guess at values for exporting models.

Ambient corresponds to emissive values in RW, so lower is better – I use a value below 5.

To compensate you may need to turn up the lights in the 3DC scene.
